Alamo Architects Congratulates Trent Tunks, RA, AICP

Alamo Architects congratulates Trent Tunks, RA, AICP, on earning certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. This achievement reflects his expertise, commitment to ethical planning, and dedication to shaping communities through thoughtful, informed design. AICP certification is a mark of distinction in the planning profession, and we’re proud to have Trent bring this level of excellence to our team.

Why AICP Certification Matters:

  • AICP represents the gold standard in planning: proven expertise, ethical leadership, and a commitment to building better communities.
  • A strict Code of Ethics prioritizes the public good, responsible development, and long-term sustainability.
  • AICP planners make a lasting difference in shaping better communities.

Trent is an architect with a passion for urban design, master planning, adaptive re-use, and multi-family housing projects. As an urban designer, he seeks to merge innovative, sustainable strategies with the design of highly contextual and vibrant public spaces. Trent’s first-hand experience as a wheelchair user has also led him to leadership roles in community outreach and advocacy with the San Antonio Housing Trust’s Sustainability and Universal Design Committee, and on the founding board of ActivateSA.org.

Across all his work, Trent brings together his experience as both a designer and wheelchair user to advocate for a more equitable, accessible, and sustainable built environment. He is a graduate of the B.S. in Architecture program at UTSA, holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture, and is now an AICP-certified planner.
