John Jay Fine Arts Facility

2025 TASA Awards | Design, Community, and Wellness

The John Jay Fine Arts Facility is the high school’s new academic hub for performing and visual arts. Contemporary architecture programmed to support arts activity sets the stage for a vibrant, culturally rich curriculum. The well-resourced facility is already home to cherished, award-winning programs: marching band, jazz band, classical orchestra, and mariachi orchestra. The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) 2025 Exhibit of School Architecture awarded the John Jay HS Fine Arts Facility three Stars of Distinction: Design, Community, and Wellness.

Holmes HS Fine Arts Center

The Holmes Fine Arts Center campus improvement project, supported by City bond funds, proposed a fine arts facility competitive with the best in the city. Our state-of-the-art facility expands possibilities and builds on tradition.

UTRGV Visual Arts Complex

Adaptive reuse is central to this redevelopment of a neighborhood elementary school into a thriving arts hub for the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Each building in the new campus will serve a function or discipline within the expanding School of Fine Arts, creating a collaborative hive of arts activity. Two new-construction buildings will complete the campus.
