UTSA Bauerle Road Parking Garage

As part of a new campus master plan rollout, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) facilities management department in 2010 engaged us to design the Bauerle Road Parking Garage and Visitor Center. We recognized the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the central campus academic neighborhood. Additionally, we proposed an innovative solution for improved ADA accessibility with a pedestrian bridge to the Main Building. Through its scale, timeless architectural expression, and thoughtful site plan, the structure joins the north quadrant as an integral campus building.

St. Mary’s Street Parking Garage

St. Mary’s Street Parking Garage, completed in 2002, was a watershed project for Alamo Architects. It showcases a commitment to urban context and a skilled response to a complex program and site. The parking facility occupies a prime corner in San Antonio’s historic downtown corridor and rises to the occasion with a swaggering contemporary expression. The project scope and resonance with the public helped us reach a new level in practice. Twenty-plus years on, we believe it stands the test of time – strong tribute to founding partner and project architect Mike Lanford.
